Upper strut mounts of shock absorbers assembly of rear suspension for Lada Priora

In the "standard version" fastening of shock absorbers in the rear suspension of the vehicle is carrying out by two rubber cushions. Basic requirements for upper shock absorber fastening, the same as for the upper strut mount, except the need rotation of the wheels. Obviously, that such an fastening does not provide the required properties for noise, vibration and energy intensity (as at full load, on the rear axle is more than half of the car weight). Suspension brackets of foreign cars use specialized upper strut mounts to solve these objectives.

Therefore, developed by "ASOMI" upper strut mount of shock absorber of rear suspension has no domestic analogues (covered by patent № 43221). It performs the same function as the upper strut mount of a strut of front suspension, but more structurally simple, since it has no bearing and bolts to the body.

The strut mount serves to transmit damping force and elastic forces of coil springs and compression buffer to the body and also is a supporting member of suspension.

Upper strut mount consists of a funnel-shape outer case (1), inner case (2), which consists of a sleeve and a curly washer, and a rubber element (3), surrounding surfaces of both cases (Fig. 1).

From the outside strut mount has a seating surface of the suspension spring reference coil (4). From the inside (5) strut mount has a cylindrical surface for installation in the body's bracket. The inner housing of a strut mounts located at the bottom of the funnel-shaped part of the outer case and forms the lower end of the strut mount. Sleeve of a case has a mounting hole for piston rod of rear suspension. Outer part of a welded to it curly washer follows the contour of the outer casing.

The space between bodies filled with rubber elements. The upper horizontal part (in the area of the reference surface of the body) and the lower part of the inner surface of the strut mount have teeth -ledges (6) that create progressive characteristics under deformation. In this case, the teeth (6) are involved in the work all the time, and the value of the deformation depends on the load on the spring. Additional fasteners - limiter of rebound consisting of washers and pads, is designed to limit the forces generated by the reverse movement of the wheel and fixes on a body previously assembled unit consisting of upper strut mount, shock absorber, springs, protective cover and compression buffer.

Strut mount has no wearing parts, so the resource of it work is equal to the period of operation of the vehicle. It requires no maintenance and inspection, and the removal and installation of shock absorber is greatly simplified.
