Upper strut mounts of strut assembly of front suspension ASOMITM are rubber steel component that receives the bulk of all the loads transmitted from suspension on the body, and plays a central role in the "primary" noise and vibration isolation. Required for this rubber strut mount must be flexible in the axial direction - for better absorption of the vertical forces that make the work of the elastic element and a damping function of the strut. And quite tough in the radial direction - in order to the action of lateral forces from the road and the forces applied to the steering arm of the steering linkage, there would be no adverse kinematic changes.
Specialists of "ASOMI Engineering", recognizing the importance of these components in the suspension, have created a fundamentally new design of the Upper strut mounts of strut assembly of front suspension (protected by patent № 34120). The strut mount consists of three main elements: strut mount, ball bearing (4), limiter of rebound (3) (Fig. 1).

Strut mount consists of an outer case (2) with mounting bolts (6) and the inner case (1). The space between the cases is filled with the rubber element, vulcanised to both cases.
Annular hearing is a hermetic construction with durable lubricating stuff. It has a press fit in the inner bearing housing and original coinage.
Limiter of rebound (3) is intended to limit the forces generated by the reverse movement of the wheels, and helps to absorb the energy of the released coil springs at the end of rebound. Installation of support without limiter can cause premature failure and leads to the loss of the possibility of a replacement under warranty.
After assemblage of the upper strut mount with the strut and a coil spring,on top of the rebound limiter (3) plastic cover is setting to prevent the ingress of water when performing car maintenance. Operation of strut mount without the cover is not allowed.
Another feature of the strut mount is the presence of 24-toothed ledges (7), which provides the necessary power intensity during rebound. When the rebound limiter (3) moves down along with the inner body, it comes into contact first with the tops of teeth, and then, with the base layer top of the rubber element of strut mount. Height and the number of teeth define the required character reference for the rebound. These teeth evenly distribute the load on the rebound limiter when the housing of strut mount and housing of the limiter not concentric.
The distinguishing feature of strut mount is the original configuration of the rubber element that enables to combine optimally two basic properties of strut mount:
• soft and advanced axial characteristic enables to get high smoothness of motion and ability to absorb high dynamic loads (Fig. 2)

• high rigidity of the strut in the radial direction provides smaller radial displacemen of the strut rod , improving steering sensitivity and gives the benefits in manageability, stability (Fig. 3).

Doubled weight of the rubber element ASOMITM compared to strut mount in basic configuration significantly improves driving comfort and reduces the overall interior noise by 1-4 dB.
Upper strut mounts of strut assembly of front suspension have the following properties that favorably distinguishes them from regular strut mounts:

• increase the stiffness of the steering control at least by 10%
• reduced effort at the steering wheel when you turn on the spot at least by 8%
